crème de la crème of neutrals

The perfect neutrals, off-whites, shades of gray, creamy pale tones, the ultimate crème de la crème. you’ve might of heard it all in the design world. And truly let me tell you it’s these beautiful '‘neutrals” in which most people yearn to live. It’s the sense of calmness that this color evokes. I love the ability to layer shades of one color successfully, finishing with a flourish of accent color that highlights the overall scheme.

The key to creating a successful perfect neutral room scheme is using the correct accent color or colors, in just the right amount and combination. Accent colors are used to provide visual interest, so they need to catch the eye in a delightful way, without overpowering the overall scheme. Color accents can be introduced in a variety of different ways, in plain colors or pattern, through display of ceramics, decorative objects, vases, flowers, rugs, throws, and furniture.

I’ve attached some of my favorite neutral rooms that I’ve styled and am enjoying right now. I love to get my hands on organic earthly textures such as; wood, cotton, straw, rock, stone, flowers, paper, linen, cotton. These creamy, buttery colors are the warmest and mellowest when displayed together.

This beautiful dried flower bouquet was done by my good friend Alisha, For the Love of Floral. She made it for a thanksgiving dinner party for me and I want to display and keep it forever.

This is a bathroom I recently staged and I absolutely love the color pallet. Styling with pretty materials from June Home Supply made it that much more visually pleasing.

When using organic earthly materials; wood, paper, marble, straw, it’s that much more refreshing and comforting. A sense of “coziness”

I love a good thrift find. Like these bamboo vintage bar stools. Since '‘rattan-style” is in right now, I love to incorporate it into my staging.

Create a spot in your home where you actually want to spend hours in. I love to wake up early before anyone else is up, put a fresh pot of hot coffee, light a candle and just be still and read. My space where I do this changes through out seasons but right now its here in my living room.
