Crafted Spring Kitchen

I always look forward to Spring. The seasonal transformation from gloomy to sunshine, the smell after rain, birds chirping, fresh blooms, walks outside, re-potting my plants, the list goes on. When it comes to decorating I treat my Kitchen like a workshop and give myself freedom to frequently change the layout of the open shelves. This gives me a space to display the eclectic mix of objects and collectibles I've accumulated. I change them seasonally  and Spring happens to be one of my favorite seasons to incorporate into my home.  A couple weeks ago on one of my weekly stops to the goodwill I came across a pair of vintage water color illustrations of France. Instantly fell in love  and wanted to style them in my home. The fresh bright coral pink border stood out to me, they became the focal point. Keeping both art and memories intact of last summer when my husband & I traveled to the South of France. I try not to buy anything new for the shelves unless it's a absolute must! Most of the time I just move pieces around and craft new fresh ideas into our Kitchen seasonly. Occasionally buy a new plant. Hope you enjoy the details.

Style Tip: When it comes to choosing decorative pieces, you want to stick to a maximum of three colors. Then it's all about placement.

I have a weak spot for vintage baskets. But not just any kind of baskets, I look for particular shapes and certain colors. The minute I spotted this one for $7 It was worth every penny!

I added more teas later to the mix. You can see some on my white shelf as well.
